An illustrated introduction to Spermatogenesis, the process by which sperm (male sex cells or “gametes”) are formed in the testes. The process begins when a spermatogonia cell matures and grows to become a primary spermatocyte, which then undergoes meiosis I to produce two secondary spermatocytes. After meiosis II, four haploid spermatids result, and each becomes sperm.
