Histological testing can help determine the specific type of tumour present.

Tests can be done to determine the presence of certain biological markers in the tumour. In the future, we may be able to use these markers to help tailor therapy.

What is staging?

Complete staging, using MRI of the spine and examination of the cerebrospinal fluid, is not usually a part of the initial diagnostic testing. However, high grade gliomas can spread, and if there are any concerns, complete staging will be considered.

More information

High Grade Gliomas

Treatment of High Grade Gliomas

Recurrence of High Grade Gliomas

Diagnosis of high grade gliomas
