This helps you and your doctor see the patterns in your child’s asthma. An asthma diary can help your child’s doctor adjust your child’s asthma medicine and gain better control of asthma symptoms.<br></p> | Each day, record the following information in your child's asthma diary:
<ul><li>your child's peak flow readings, if appropriate for your child's age</li><li>your child's asthma symptoms, if any</li><li>how many doses of reliever medicine your child takes</li><li>any activities or exposure to things that may have triggered asthma symptoms</li><li>any activities that have been affected by asthma, such as doctor's appointments or missed school days</li></ul><p>Bring your child's asthma diary with you to clinic visits so that you and your doctor can review it to see how well your child's asthma is controlled. </p>
