Weekly assignment 4: Problem solving 2

PDF download is not available for Arabic and Urdu languages at this time. Please use the browser print function instead

Complete the weekly assignment to help you practise what you learned in the Problem solving 2 module of the iCanCope with Sickle Cell Pain program.

Key points

  • In this module, you learned the steps of the Bright IDEAS problem solving system: identify the problem as specifically as possible; define your options; evaluate your options to identify the best solution; act out the solution; and see if the solution worked.
  • This week, practise what you learned by choosing a problem and using the steps of the Bright IDEAS system to try to solve it. Then, return to this page at the end of the week to reflect on how things went by answering the assignment review questions.

Your weekly assignment

pdf

Over the next week, select a problem and practise solving it by using your problem-solving steps. You can download and fill in this PDF of the Bright IDEAS workbook or simply write your ideas on a piece of paper and review them.

The problem that you choose to solve may or may not be related to your teen’s sickle cell pain. It could be any problem that you encounter, big or small. You can come back to this module to help you, but remember the word IDEAS as a clue to the different steps.

I - Identify the problem

D - Define your options

E - Evaluate your options
